PoKo ry is one of the 55 LEADER groups in Finland.

PoKo ry is a non-governmental association which developes the rural areas in western Finland. PoKo ry´s operational area consist four regions: the municipality of Ruovesi, the cities of Virrat and Mänttä-Vilppula and a Kuru-region which is a part of the city of Ylöjärvi.



Local action groups (LAG) offer possibilities to improve and maintain the quality of living in the countryside by activating and financing grass-root level development projects. Development projects are actions which create something new and advance employment and comfort of living in the countryside. Reorganizing services in the countryside and cultural action are also important aspects for PoKo ry.
